The Brief:
The presence of the new UTS website means that all of the branding applied to the existing divisions have become obsolete. The new division pages are now simpler and can only accommodate one simple banner.
At the same time, it was recognized that it’s important for each division to retain elements of their previous branding. By doing this, there will be less of a disconnect between the visitors and the new site.
Design Approach:
Prior to the rebranding, each division already had their own small mini-site that was designed with images and style that they preferred. The task therefore was to encapsulate the mini site into a banner.
The design of the banners also need to be somewhat consistent. This, however, was not always possible due to the politics that governed each division. Thus, the design also had to be flexible within reasons.
